Salvador Mondragon Struck, Injured by Motorist on West Nob Hill Boulevard Near Rock Avenue
YAKIMA, WA (February 8, 2019) – A teen was critically injured Monday morning when he was struck by a driver on West Nob Hill Boulevard near Rock Avenue.
The 17-year-old boy was identified as Salvador Garcia Mondragon by City spokesman Randy Beehler.
News reports say Mondragon was hit by a westbound Ford Explorer on West Nob Hill Boulevard around 6:45 a.m.
There were no details concerning the events of the crash, but officers believe it was dark but not snowing at the time of the incident. The 23-year-old male driver involved stopped immediately and contacted 911.
The teen, who was not in a marked crosswalk, suffered multiple injuries including a possible fractured skull and is recovering at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
