Roy Werner Killed, Karen McCune Hospitalized in Motorcycle Accident on Highway 254 Near Cathey Road
GARBERVILLE, CA (April 5, 2019) – A man lost his life in a motorcycle collision Saturday on Highway 254 near Cathey Road.
The single-vehicle accident involved a 2004 Harley-Davidson around 3:56 p.m.
For unknown reasons, as Roy Werner traveled north on the highway, he lost control of the bike and ran off the road before overturning.
Werner, 58, and his 64-year-old passenger, Karen McCune, suffered serious injuries after being ejected from the impact.
Unfortunately, the Redway man died as a result, and McCune suffered moderate injuries. Paramedics brought her to St. Joseph’s Hospital for further treatment.
According to officials at the scene, alcohol might have played a role in the collision. However, a follow-up investigation is underway.
