MID Truck Run Over 60-Year-Old Rosalia Gonzales on Yosemite Boulevard
Modesto, CA (December 12, 2020) – On Tuesday, 60-year-old Rosalia Gonzales died after she was run over by a Modesto Irrigation District truck on Yosemite Boulevard.
The fatal incident happened at Stop N Save on Riverside Drive.
Modesto Police Department spokeswoman Sharon Bear said Gonzales was leaning on the truck’s front bumper when it started moving and ran her over.
Due to the height of the truck, the driver did not know Gonzales was there.
It’s unclear if Gonzales tried to move out of the way. Also, it is not known how long she’d been there before it started moving.
Bear said drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the incident.
Meanwhile, Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office Detective Steve Nunes said the victim’s last known address was in Modesto. Although, she is believed to have been homeless.
Nunes was not able to locate any family for Gonzales. Similarly, he asks any family or anyone with information about the family to contact the Coroner’s Office at 209-567-4480.
Please contact Officer Randy Raduechel at [email protected] if you have further details about the incident.
We at Sweet Lawyers would like to express our condolences to the bereaved of Rosalia Gonzales. Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time.
How the Bereaved Can Proceed
“Insurance companies will try to save money, even if it means not fully compensating a family for the wrongful death of a loved one. When a family retains an attorney immediately, it gives them time to grieve and heal, while their lawyer works to build a strong case and hold the negligent party accountable,” says Tyler Toomey, a practicing attorney at Sweet Lawyers.
