Ronald Harris Involved in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on West Second Street
San Bernardino, CA (December 29, 2020) – On Sunday, a 42-year-old San Bernardino man died while police arrested 30-year-old Ronald Harris of San Bernardino in a hit-and-run crash on West Second Street.
The hit-and-run incident happened at about 7:45 p.m. on the intersection with G Street.
Apparently, the pedestrian was crossing West Second Street when a speeding Saturn Aura heading west struck him.
The authorities pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Authorities had not yet publicly identified the deceased as of Monday afternoon.
Meanwhile, the police believe the suspect driver was under the influence of marijuana at the time of the crash.
Furthermore, police arrested Harris at West Harwick Drive and Annapolis Circle in San Bernardino around 12:20 a.m. Monday. They booked him on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and hit-and-run causing injury or death.
Additionally, as of Monday afternoon, he was being held at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga in lieu of $250,000 bail.
