Rodrick Baker Jr Injured in Crippling Hit-and-Run Crash on Bradbury Road [Turlock, CA]

Injuries Reported in Turlock Motorcycle Accident on Bradbury Road and Commons Road

TURLOCK, CA (September 22, 2023) – Tuesday morning, Rodrick Baker Jr suffered injuries in a crippling hit-and-run crash on Bradbury Road.

The incident happened on Bradbury Road and Commons Road.

According to reports, a driver on a rural road struck and injured the motorcyclist. Then, the involved driver fled the scene.

Afterward, responders airlifted the 45-year-old victim from Merced resident to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.

Meanwhile, a preliminary investigation revealed that Baker was headed west on Bradbury Road on a 2022 Yamaha motorcycle. He was traveling behind a car as they both approached Commons Road. “The driver of the sedan entered the north shoulder of the road before making a sharp U-turn directly toward the Yamaha,” the report said.

“The front of the sedan broadsided the right side of the Yamaha, causing Mr. Baker to be ejected onto the roadway.” After the crash, the sedan driver fled east on Bradbury Road. “We don’t believe it’s an intentional act at this point,” CHP Officer Tom Olsen said Wednesday. “It’s not uncommon for people to turn their vehicles in that manner.”

Olsen added that the crash was a felony hit-and-run.

Meanwhile, officers described the hit-and-run vehicle as a dark blue or gray Volkswagen Jetta with front-end damage.

Moreover, investigators found a Jetta grill at the scene.

Officers received a report of the crash at about 6:30 a.m. Furthermore, they urged anyone with information regarding the hit-and-run to contact CHP Officer Blake Mitchell at 209-545-7440.
