Robin Schmidt Dies in Head-On Crash on Remy Lane at Highway 508
NAPAVINE, WA (April 17, 2019) – A 62-year-old woman was killed in a four-vehicle crash at Remy Lane and Highway 508 Friday afternoon.
According to Washington State Patrol, troopers responded to the 3:25 p.m. crash after receiving reports.
Reports say three cars traveling eastbound on Remy Lane stopped for traffic. However, a driver in a 2008 GMC pickup truck failed to slow down and swerved into the opposing lane. There, the 21-year-old Chehalis man struck the side of a stopped 2003 Chevrolet Suburban SUV before hitting a 2018 Hyundai Kona head-on.
The driver of the Hyundai, identified as Robin K. Schmidt, died from her injuries. A fourth vehicle was somehow involved in the collision under unknown circumstances.
Meanwhile, the driver of the GMC sustained injuries but declined medical transport.
According to WSP, neither alcohol nor drugs played a role in the crash.
Our deepest thoughts and sympathies go out to the bereaved family and friends of Robin K. Schmidt.
