Roberto Carlos Robles Killed in Wrong-Way Collision on US 281 [Edinburg, TX]

Edinburg, TX (April 22, 2023) – On Thursday, Roberto Carlos Robles, 46, of Edinburg, sustained fatal injuries following a wrong-way collision on US 281.

The traffic collision took place at about 6:10 p.m. about 25 miles north of Edinburg.

Police said a 2014 Nissan Sentra and a 2021 Lexus GX460 were both occupied by one person only.

The Nissan was southbound on northbound lanes of the freeway and the Lexus was driving northbound. As a result, the two vehicles collided head-on.

The Nissan driver, Robles, died at the scene.

Moreover, the paramedics took the Lexus driver was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
