Robert Vogler and Stephen Collins Hospitalized in Head-On Crash on Highway 20
Lake County, CA (August 18, 2020) – On Friday, 48-year-old Robert Vogler of Kennewick Washington was severely injured in a head-on crash on Highway 20.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident happened at around 1:45 p.m. on August 14, between a 2014 Chevrolet Volt and a 2006 Chevrolet 2500 van driven by Vogler.
CHP said 20-year-old Stephen Collins of St. Helena was traveling the Volt eastbound on Highway 20 when he went across the double yellow lines. As a result, he crashed head-on with Vogler’s van.
Vogler’s van overturned.
Both Vogler and Collins sustained major injuries. Immediately, the paramedic’s team airlifted them to the hospital.
Meanwhile, the CHP said all lanes of Highway 20 were closed for approximately two hours as a result of the crash.
Furthermore, authorities said alcohol and drugs were not believed to have played a role in the accident.
The CHP is handling the investigation.
