Robert Tockstein Fatally Struck by Car in Poway

 
POWAY, CA (November 15, 2018) – Two pedestrian accidents on Twin Peaks Road near Midland Road Tuesday night left one pedestrian injured and another dead.
 
The pedestrian crashes took place around 8:00 p.m. and happened within minutes of each other.
 
The first crash happened when a woman struck a man who was walking his dog. The female driver stayed at the scene and contacted her husband as she waited for police to investigate.
 
However, when the husband – identified as 69-year-old Robert Tockstein of Ramona – arrived, he was struck by an oncoming vehicle while crossing the same road. Tockstein was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died from his injuries.
 
The first pedestrian who was hit suffered minor injuries and was hospitalized shortly after.
 
Both drivers stayed at the scene and alcohol was not believed to be a factor in either collision. Authorities are investigating this crash further to determine the liabilities.
