Robert Ellis Arrested Following Deadly DUI Crash on North Blackstone Avenue Near East Terrace Avenue

 
FRESNO, CA (January 21, 2019) – An early Friday morning crash involving a DUI hit-and-run motorist on North Blackstone Avenue near East Terrace Avenue left one person dead.
 
Robert Ellis was determined to be the 18-year-old Fresno man driving a pickup truck at a high rate of speed, southbound on Blackstone Avenue. The pickup left the roadway, veered into a parking lot of an auto parts store before it crossed East Terrace Avenue and slammed into a tree.
 
Ellis was arrested on charges of felony DUI and hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter after his passenger died at Community Regional Medical Center.
 
The identity of the fatal victim has yet to be released by the Fresno County coroner.
