Morning 2-Vehicle Collision on 57 Freeway at Nutwood Avenue Sends Elderly Man to Hospital
FULLERTON, CA (March 25, 2019) – A man was hospitalized following a two-vehicle collision Monday morning in Fullerton.
The collision happened around 10:31 a.m. on southbound 57 Freeway at Nutwood Avenue off-ramp.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a big rig collided with another vehicle for unknown reasons. When officers arrived, the big rig was blocking the on-ramp while the other vehicle was undriveable.
An elderly man, identified as Robert Clafford, was taken to UCI Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
A SigAlert was issued, blocking the fifth lane for about an hour while crews cleared the scene.
An investigation is still ongoing to determine the cause of the crash and to identify possible contributing factors.
