Motorcyclist Dies in Sacramento Broadside Accident
SACRAMENTO, CA (December 10, 2019) — A motorcyclist died in a high-speed, broadside motorcycle accident on Watt Avenue Sunday afternoon near Kentfield Drive.
The deadly crash unfolded around 1 p.m. According to the California Highway Patrol, the rider, described as a 48-year-old man, traveled southbound on Watt Avenue. As he approached the intersection with Kentfield Drive, witnesses reported seeing him blow through a red light at speeds of about 70 miles per hour.
A sedan that had a green traffic light subsequently T-Boned the motorcyclist, causing the man major injuries.
Paramedics arrived and shuttled him to a nearby hospital, but it had been too late; the unidentified motorcyclist died shortly after.
Meanwhile, the driver of the sedan remained at the scene and cooperated with police investigations.
