Motorcyclist Killed in Menlo Fatal Crash on Highway 101
MENLO PARK, CA (April 26, 2019) – A rider died in a motorcycle accident on Highway 101 near Menlo Park on Saturday, April 20.
According to California Highway Patrol, at around 3:30 a.m., a motorcyclist collided with a Jeep SUV on Highway 101 just south of the Willow Road exit. It occurred near the border between Menlo Park and East Palo Alto.
CHP officers stated that it is not yet determined how the accident happened. However, both the motorcycle and the SUV were badly damaged.
The 34-year-old motorcyclist, whose identity was not immediately released, died at the scene.
CHP shut down all northbound lanes of Highway 101 for about an hour. Two lanes remained closed for the next three hours after that.
The Jeep driver, a 35-year-old San Jose man, did not sustain any injuries. CHP officials stated that he cooperated with their investigation. There was no sign that the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
