Man Dead, Rick Barretta Hospitalized in Rohnert Park Accident on Highway 101

ROHNERT PARK, CA (August 9, 2021) – Sunday morning, a man died and Rick Barretta sustained injuries in a crash on Highway 101 and Rohnert Park Expressway.

The rear-end accident happened at about 4:00 a.m. on Highway 101, north of Rohnert Park Expressway.

According to reports, a male driver traveled north on Highway 101. Then, he stopped his gray Nissan in the middle lane and exited the vehicle.

As the man stood near his car, a Ford F-250, driven by Mr. Barretta, rear-ended the Nissan. The impact pushed the Nissan forward, in effect hitting the male driver. Then, the man landed on the road where a Ford F-150 hit him. The latter Ford was driven by Jorge Mendoza-Suarez, 26.

At this time, the authorities haven’t disclosed the identity of the Nissan’s driver.

Meanwhile, 41-year-old Barretta and his three passengers sustained injuries. Thus, responders took them to the Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

Moreover, the F-150 driver, Mr. Mendoza-Suarez, sustained no injuries.

At this time, the authorities haven’t determined why the deceased Nissan driver stopped his vehicle on the northbound side of the highway.
