Reyes Garza Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident on Highway 100 [Laguna Heights, TX]

Laguna Heights, TX (April 1, 2023) On Thursday evening, 66-year-old Reyes Garza of Laguna Heights died in a hit-and-run crash on Highway 100.

Texas DPS says that the deadly auto-pedestrian accident happened at the intersection of SH100 and Madison Street.

Reports say that Garza was struck by a westbound Dodge Journey. The pedestrian was attempting to cross the street when the gray Dodge struck the victim.

Authorities say that Garza was not using a crosswalk and was wearing dark clothing at the time of the collision. However, the driver of the Dodge fled the scene without rendering aid to the fallen pedestrian.

Paramedics transported the victim to a hospital, however, Garza succumbed to his injuries and died at the hospital.

DPS are searching for the suspect driver and vehicle in the fatal hit-and-run accident.
