Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck by Caltrain in Redwood City
REDWOOD CITY, CA (December 6, 2018) – Authorities are investigating a pedestrian collision on Main Street near Pennsylvania Avenue after a Caltrain fatally struck a woman Wednesday afternoon.
The incident occurred around 4 p.m. at the Main Street railroad crossing, according to Caltrain spokeswoman Tasha Bartholomew.
The San Mateo County coroner’s office is investigating the ultimate cause of death, which marks the 11th of this year for Caltrain. The train was reportedly shuttling 450 passengers on board and trains were delayed throughout the afternoon due to investigations.
Because the details of this collision remain scant, authorities are investigating this further.
