Man Dies After Being Hit by Driver in Redding
REDDING, CA (January 15, 2019) – A 65-year-old Anderson man died Sunday after being struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle along Highway 273 near Happy Valley Road.
The man was believed to be riding his bicycle southbound on the highway when he was hit by a 2002 Ford Expedition, driven by a 56-year-old woman from Anderson.
The woman was believed to be traveling in the slow lane, yet it was unclear what caused the 1:18 p.m. crash.
California Highway Patrol confirmed that neither alcohol nor drugs appear to be contributing sources to the wreck.
