Raymundo Meza Arrested Following DUI Two-Car Accident at Ironwood Avenue and Perris Boulevard
MORENO VALLEY, CA (May 21, 2019) – A DUI driver caused a fatal two-car crash at Ironwood Avenue and Perris Boulevard Sunday morning.
The crash happened around 3 a.m., calling Moreno Valley police, firefighters and paramedics to the scene.
Reports say 911 callers informed dispatchers about a driver attempting to flee a two-car collision. However, a Good Samaritan successfully detained the man until deputies arrived.
A small silver hatchback sustained major side impact damage and a gold minivan undertook major front-end damage due to the crash.
It appears the driver and passenger of the silver hatchback suffered major injuries. Firefighters extricated both victims from the mangled wreck and transported them to a hospital.
However, despite life-saving efforts, the female passenger died shortly after arrival. Her identity has yet to be released by the coroner’s office.
Meanwhile, at the scene, 26-year-old Raymundo Meza demonstrated signs of impairment, which resulted in his arrest.
Authorities booked the Moreno Valley man on suspicion a felony driving under the influence.
