Pedestrian Dies, 50-Year-Old Raul Garcia Arrested in Del Mar Heights Road Hit-and-Run Crash

 
San Diego, CA (April 10, 2021) – On Friday, police arrested 50-year-old Raul Garcia in a fatal hit-and-run crash on Del Mar Heights Road.
 
The fatal accident took place at about 2:15 p.m. near the southern end of Crest Canyon Park.
 
The male pedestrian was crossing the road when an eastbound 2004 Saturn Vue struck him.
 
Right away, paramedics took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
 
The authorities withheld his name pending family notification.
 
Reports said Garcia continued driving for a few blocks before pulling over.
 
Witnesses who followed him persuaded him to return to the crash scene. Officers detained him for questioning and arrested him on suspicion of felony hit-and-run.
