Driver Dies in Rancho Cucamonga Hit-and-Run Crash
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA (January 21, 2019) – A motorist was killed Friday night after being struck by a hit-and-run vehicle while standing next to a car along the 210 Freeway near Archibald Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 7:30 p.m. A car was stopped along the right shoulder of the freeway and a person was standing outside of it. The unidentified victim was then hit by a vehicle that fled the scene.
The body was seen lying on the ground just outside the driver’s side door. When CHP arrived at the scene, authorities responded to another call about a vehicle spotted less than a mile away that had significant damage from a traffic collision.
Authorities pieced together both incidents and determined that the vehicle was involved in the hit-and-run.
More details will be released once authorities investigate this crash further. The identity of the fatal victim will be released once the next of kin has been notified.
