Man Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Highway 78 [Ramona, CA]

Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Pickup near 7th Street in Ramona

 
RAMONA, CA (February 27, 2019) – A 73-year-old unidentified pedestrian was fatally struck by a pickup truck Tuesday, on Highway 78.
 
The unidentified victim was struck around 9:30 a.m., as a Ford F-150 made a left turn from southbound 7th Street.
 
Authorities say the victim had the right of way when he was hit. Upon medics arrival, the victim was taken to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, where he later died as a result of his injuries.
 
The victim’s identity will eventually be released once the next of kin has been notified. There has also been no update on the truck driver’s current status.
 
Intoxication is determined to not have been a factor in the collision. No further details have been given at this time.
