3 People Hurt Following Ramona Two-Vehicle Accident
RAMONA, CA (March 6, 2019) – Paramedics transported three people, including two in serious condition, to local hospitals after two cars crashed on Dye Road near Highway 67 Tuesday.
The two-vehicle accident occurred around 4:30 p.m. in the 3200 block of Dye Road, according to California Highway Patrol officers.
One CHP officer stated that the driver of a white Mercedes sideswiped a Subaru before crashing head-on into a pickup truck after traveling too fast on a bend in the roadway.
The major-injury collision sheared the engine compartment off the Mercedes sedan and left rescue crews having to cut the roof off of the pickup truck to free the driver from the heap of metal.
Three people required hospitalization, including two who had to be airlifted to Palomar Medical Center. Paramedics rushed the third person to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Investigators are determining whether impairment played a role in a collision.
