Ramon Lujan Dies in Highway 99 Pedestrian Accident [Fresno, CA]

Fresno, CA (August 01, 2021) – On Sunday, 28-year-old Ramon Lujan, died in a hit-and-run crash on Highway 99.

The fatal crash took place just minutes after 12:30 a.m. near the Belmont off-ramp.

Officers said Lujan walked out into traffic was struck by a vehicle.

Unfortunately, investigating officers said several vehicles struck his body after the initial crash.

Officers pronounced Lujan dead on the scene.

Meanwhile, the authorities closed several lanes of traffic for hours as they investigated.

Sadly, accidents like this one are happening all too often across Fresno, says an officer.

“Make sure that you’re going slow, go the speed limit. Just because you don’t know what’s going to jump out at you and tonight, just like last night, we had another tragedy here in Fresno. It’s heartbreaking – every night’s heartbreaking,” says CHP officer Johnny Fisher.
