Elderly Man Struck and Killed in San Bruno Identified as Rajendra Prasad
SAN BRUNO, CA (January 11, 2019) — A wheelchair-bound man died after he was struck while crossing El Camino Real on Wednesday, January 9.
The 70-year-old man was identified by the coroner’s office as Rajendra Prasad of San Bruno.
According to San Bruno Police Sgt. Gene Wong, the collision occurred shortly after 6 a.m. along El Camino Real at Santa Lucia Avenue.
Officers determined that Prasad was crossing El Camino Real in a wheelchair when he was hit by a van moving southbound, Wong stated. The driver of the van stayed at the scene.
Wong did not say if Prasad was in a designated crosswalk when the crash happened. The victim was rushed to a local trauma center, where he was later pronounced dead.
