Juan Cordova Injured in Fontana Broadside Crash

Fontana, CA (June 11, 2022) – On June 8, Priscilla Hernandez, a 40-year-old Colton resident, sustained fatal injuries in a DUI crash on North Riverside Avenue.

The fatal collision took place at 9:15 p.m. in the 300 Block area.

Reports say a black 2018 Mercedes C63 driven by 38-year-old Richard Madrid northbound at a high rate of speed.

At the same time, a 2011 Chevrolet HHR driven by Juan Cordova, also from Colton, was eastbound with Hernandez as his passenger.

According to the investigators, Madrid was under the influence of alcohol when the DUI broadside collision happened.

Moreover, the emergency rescuers rushed Priscilla Hernandez to a local hospital where she died. They also took Cordova to a local hospital for significant injuries but in stable condition.

The paramedics rushed Madrid to a local hospital for minor injuries. After the hospital discharged him, the officer booked him into West Valley Detention Center. His bail was set at $2.5 million.

The authorities say Madrid has four DUI-related convictions. He was previously on felony probation out of Riverside County from 2016 through 2019 for DUI with three or more prior convictions within the past 10 years.
