Prince Smith Hit, Killed by Vehicle on H Street Near 8th Street

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 5, 2019) – A 64-year-old Bakersfield man died moments after he was struck by a vehicle Friday evening on H Street near 8th Street.
 
Police believe Prince Albert Smith was crossing 8th Street around 6 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle. A driver informed police about another vehicle striking the man and leaving the scene, but an investigation regarding this claim is underway.
 
Smith was brought to Kern Medical Center where he died around 6:40 p.m.
 
Police believe drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the collision.
