Police Search for Suspect Who Struck an Arcata Police Vehicle [Arcata, CA]

Person Who Struck an Arcata Police Vehicle Chased by Police

 
Arcata, CA (October 26, 2020) – On Thursday, law enforcement was in pursuit of the person who struck an Arcata Police vehicle and plowed through a fence on Pacheco Street.
 
Arcata Police Chief Brian Ahearn said they received a report that a man driving a vehicle was suspected of breaking windows with a bat.
 
The authorities began pursuit at around 7:30 p.m. wherein the suspect vehicle is a white Dodge Neon that was moderately damaged.
 
Apparently, as of 7:38 p.m., the suspect vehicle was racing through a field towards Samoa.
 
Further, the authorities blocked Pacheco Street as of 7:46 P.M. The Humboldt County Sheriff’s vehicles and University Police as well as APD were at the scene.
 
Moreover, a K-9 officer responded to the scene at about 8:06 PM.
 
At around 8:08 p.m. an officer found a bag containing marijuana and other items near the scene. Officers believe it belongs to the suspect.
 
Finally, after a high-speed pursuit, police formed a perimeter around the block of Samoa Boulevard and Pacheco Rodd. Police searched for the suspect and any belongings they may have tossed in the chase.
 
Practice safe driving habits on the road at all times. Even when it is empty. Even when there is no police officer around to make sure you make a full and complete stop.
