Officer Injured in Redlands Car Accident
REDLANDS, CA (February 18, 2019) – A police officer of Redlands was taken to a hospital after crashing his patrol car into a power pole while responding to a report of a man with a gun on February 15.
The incident occurred around 3:00 a.m. near the intersection of Lugonia Avenue and Church Street. The event led to a sheared pole, causing a power outage in the area.
The SUV’s front end was engulfed in flames which were extinguished. The injured was taken to a medical center after sustaining “broken bones and other major injuries,” the Redlands Police Department reported.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
