PINON HILLS, CA – Man Fatally Struck by Semi-Truck on Highway 138 Near Beekley Road

Pedestrian Killed in Pinon Hills Crash near Beekley Road

 
PINON HILLS, CA (February 18, 2019) – Early Friday morning, a pedestrian was fatally struck by a semi-truck on Highway 138. Their identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
 
Authorities with the California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino County firefighters were dispatched to the scene around 2:55 a.m. A preliminary investigation proved that the pedestrian was walking eastbound on the highway within the eastbound traffic lanes and was struck by a tractor-trailer combination.
 
Following the collision, the driver of the truck immediately pulled off to the shoulder and contacted 911. The victim, however, suffered major injuries and was airlifted to Antelope Valley Hospital. Due to the impact, he later died from his injuries.
 
The identity of the pedestrian is under investigation, and anyone who has witnessed this crash is asked to call CHP Victorville Area office at (760) 241-1186.
