Speeding Vehicle Causes Collision on Highway 101 in Petaluma, Injuries Reported
PETALUMA, CA (December 2, 2018) – One person was hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash Sunday morning on Highway 101 in Petaluma.
The crash happened around 11:49 a.m. on the northbound direction of the highway at East Washington Street off-ramp.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a white Chevrolet pickup truck and white Cadillac Escalade were involved.
The driver of the SUV was speeding and to avoid hitting a stopped vehicle in front of him, he swerved into the next lane and crashed into the pickup truck.
Fire crews responded to the scene and located both vehicles in the center divider. One occupant sustained injuries and was taken to a hospital for proper treatment.
Both vehicles were towed away for evidence.
It is unknown if charges has been filed and liability has not yet been determined. The incident is still under investigation.
