Driver Strikes, Kills Pedestrian in Victorville
VICTORVILLE, CA (January 24, 2020)—A man died moments after Wednesday night’s pedestrian accident on Hesperia Road near D Street.
According to reports, the incident befell in Old Town Victorville around 5:49 p.m. Dispatch received a call about an unresponsive adult male in the roadway.
Shortly after, Victorville City firefighters and AMR responded and performed life-saving measures on the victim. With haste, paramedics subsequently rushed him to Victor Valley Global Medical Center while the male driver of the 2007 Nissan Frontier that struck him stayed at the scene.
Unfortunately, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries and although his name has yet to be released, authorities described him as a homeless man in his 60s.
At this time, investigators are still piecing together what had happened. So far, they’ve ascertained that the pedestrian stepped into the northbound lanes of traffic, resulting in the accident.
