Pedestrian Crash Turns Fatal in Oceanside
OCEANSIDE, CA (February 3, 2020)—A pedestrian died Friday morning after being hit by a vehicle on the 5 North Freeway near the Aliso Creek Rest Area.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal event happened around 6:15 a.m. near Camp Pendleton. CHP dispatcher said the victim died at the scene; however, the details pertaining to the accident were unavailable at the time.
In the wake of the crash, officials closed all northbound lanes before opening the left lane around 7:00 a.m.
