People Hospitalized in Pursuit Collision on Somerville Road [Antioch, CA]

5 Injured in Antioch Traffic Collision

Antioch, CA (January 2, 2024) – People were injured in a pursuit collision on Somerville Road late Saturday night.

The traffic officers were investigating a sideshow in the area of Highway 4. CHP officers tried to pull over a driver due to excessive speed which resulted in a chase.

The pursuit ended when the suspect’s car plowed into a concrete support near the Pittsburg Bart station.

Moreover, the accident report stated that other sideshow vehicles showed up at the scene as the CHP officers were helping the victims.

Officers said there were five victims in the car that crashed. The medical team rushed them to the hospital.

“The sideshow vehicles in the area responded to the incident as well and verbally yelled at our officers, and objects were being thrown at our officers on scene. A little more hostile at that point. Additional CHP units were able to arrive on the scene and assist the other units,” said Nelson Fulgencio with CHP.

No officers were injured in the pursuit collision on Somerville Road.
