Peggy McClendon Hit, Killed by Teen Driver on Arden Way Near McClaren Drive

 
CARMICHAEL, CA (March 26, 2019) – A teen driver fatally struck two women Friday morning on Arden Way near McClaren Drive, leading authorities on a search for the cause.
 
According to news reports, the two 72-year-old women tragically died in the 9:30 a.m. incident. Peggy McClendon and the other unidentified fatal victim were on the shoulder of Arden Way when the teen driver veered out of the main lane and struck both pedestrians.
 
The 16-year-old driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Meanwhile, paramedics transported both victims to a nearby hospital where one of them died. The other patient died shortly after, yet it is unclear whether McClendon passed away first.
 
At this time, officers have ruled out impairment as a factor, but a follow-up examination of this case is underway.
