Man Dead in Pedestrian Accident in Delano
DELANO, CA (March 12, 2019) – A pedestrian accident on Highway 99 near Avenue 24 involving a Greyhound bus Sunday night turned deadly.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident unfolded around 9 p.m. just south of Earlimart.
A driver of a Greyhound bus struck a man, who reportedly walked from the median onto the roadway. Per news reports, the Greyhound bus merged into the lane, where the man stepped into as it headed north to Fresno.
According to police officers, the victim died at the scene and none of the 23 passengers on board the bus at the time sustained any harm.
Due to investigations, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officials.
