Woman Perishes in North Hollywood Crash
NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA (March 27, 2019) – A Tuesday afternoon three-car collision killed a pedestrian nearby at Vineland Avenue and Victory Boulevard.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the devastating incident happened at approximately 3:10 p.m. along Victory Boulevard.
A BMW driver blew through a red light after heading northbound on Vineland Avenue. As a result, the car plowed into a southbound Honda as its driver attempted a turn onto Victory Boulevard.
The intense force of the collision caused the BMW to veer off the street and strike a parked vehicle in the nearby CVS Pharmacy parking lot. The vehicle subsequently bounced and rammed into the CVS sign before it struck the female pedestrian on the sidewalk.
According to LAPD, witnesses tried hoisting the vehicle off the victim before paramedics arrived to take over. However, the unidentified victim perished shortly after.
Following the accident, paramedics brought the Honda and BMW drivers to a hospital for treatment. Yet according to authorities, the BMW driver may face DUI charges.
