Madera, CA (July 26, 2024) On Thursday afternoon, a pedestrian was killed after a horrific crash on Highway 99.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal auto-pedestrian crash happened near Avenue 9 and Avenue 12.

Reports say that a northbound big rig sideswiped a car hauler stopped on the side of the highway, a pedestrian who may be working under the vehicle was struck.

Authorities pronounced the person dead at the scene.
