Man Hit, Injured by Deputy Vehicle in Highway 99 Crash
FRESNO, CA (June 10, 2019) – Paramedics brought a man to a hospital on Friday, after a deputy vehicle struck the pedestrian on Highway 99.
The incident befell around midnight on the southbound side. Dispatchers arrived to the area near Highway 180 shortly after.
According to reports, a 66-year-old man was looking for aluminum cans when he drew distracted and meandered into traffic. A Fresno County Sheriff’s Deputy vehicle subsequently struck the pedestrian. The deputy immediately pulled over and contacted help.
The victim sustained injuries as a result of the impact. He later sought treatment at Community Regional Medical Center. However, there has been no update on his current condition.
Because the details of this crash are limited, the CHP is currently investigating this case further.
