Pedestrian Hit, Injured by Suspected DUI Driver in Saugus
SAUGUS, CA (March 26, 2019) – A Sunday afternoon DUI pedestrian accident on Drayton Street near Springbrook Avenue left a victim hospitalized and a suspect detained.
The incident happened in the 23000 block of Drayton Street, according to Los Angeles County Fire officials.
Around 3:41 p.m., First Responders received a call regarding a drunk driving incident and a pedestrian.
Per Lt. Dahring of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, police arrested one suspect for alleged DUI. It appears the suspect ran over the victim’s leg as the victim slept. Further reports noted that the driver was going back and forth for beer throughout the day.
Once paramedics arrived, they brought the patient to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash that happened near Bridge to Home Homeless Shelter requires further investigation by authorities. They are urging witnesses to call their offices if they know of anything.
