Woman Dies in Sacramento Pedestrian Accident on Power Inn Road
SACRAMENTO, CA (July 10, 2019) – A female pedestrian died Monday after she was fatally struck by a car on Power Inn Road, near 68th Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian suddenly walked onto Power Inn Road after conversing on the east sidewalk of the street. There, an oncoming Ford Escape struck her.
Officers arrived soon after and rendered CPR on the victim. However, she died at the scene as a result of the impact.
Meanwhile, the Ford driver stayed on site and cooperated with police. Following the crash, officers released her after determining that impairment did not contribute to the cause of the accident.
Authorities still plan to uncover the ultimate cause of this fatal crash that unfolded Monday night.
The surrounding area was closed off for a brief time while crews worked to clear the wreckage. However, the roadway has since reopened.
