Patrick Montgomery Dies in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on Park Paxton Place Near Skyway Drive
SAN JOSE, CA (April 12, 2019) – A 17-year-old boy died Sunday in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Park Paxton Place near Skyway Drive.
According to San Jose police Sgt. Enrique Garcia, officers arrived at the 4000 block of Park Paxton Place around 6:40 p.m. to investigate.
In the preliminary investigation of the April 5 incident, authorities learned that Patrick Montgomery sustained grave injuries after being struck by a car.
Garcia adds that Montgomery either held on to the car or was dragged by the vehicle. He then fell to the ground and came to a rest against a parked vehicle.
Per reports, the teen sought treatment at a local hospital where, despite life-saving efforts, he died Sunday.
As detectives work to identify the suspect in connection with this fatal crash, the family is raising funds with the help of a GoFundMe campaign.
