Patricia O’Donnell Killed, Patrick Finkelstein Detained Following Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on Perishing Drive Near Campdell Street
PLAYA DEL REY, CA (February 14, 2020)—A 48-year-old woman died in a DUI hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Perishing Drive near Campdell Street Thursday morning.
Police say the incident took place just before 1:30 a.m. and had been captured by surveillance footage. The recording of the scene showed Patricia Ann O’Donnell exiting out of a truck before hopping onto her skateboard. As she began skating in a business parking lot and riding onto a street, a northbound vehicle struck her on Perishing Drive.
O’Donnell, 48, died as a result of her injuries.
As far as the vehicle, it did not stop, according to footage; however, investigators succeeded in tracking down the suspect, whom officials identified as 45-year-old Patrick Finkelstein, of Santa Monica. Police officers arrested and booked him for vehicular manslaughter while driving under the influence.
