Ridgecrest DUI Crash Injures Passenger, Richard McQuade Arrested
Ridgecrest, CA (May 22, 2021) – On May 14, a motorcycle passenger was injured and police arrested Richard McQuade in a DUI crash on Wilson Avenue.
The accident happened at around 6 p.m. at the Helena Street intersection.
Moreover, the authorities said McQuade’s passenger was ejected from the motorcycle. As a result, the passenger was injured.
Immediately, the rescuers transported the victim to Ridgecrest Regional Hospital. Then they airlifted the victim to another hospital.
Officers said McQuade was driving under the influence of drugs during the accident.
Apparently, the authorities found in his possession, what they suspected as methamphetamine and controlled substance paraphernalia. Officers also found in his possession, a loaded “Ghost Gun” which is prohibited, given his status as a convicted felon.
Consequently, the authorities took McQuade to Ridgecrest Regional Hospital where he was cleared for his injuries.
Then, they arrested and booked him at the Central Receiving Facility (CRF) in Bakersfield. McQuade is facing charges of DUI causing great bodily injury, DUI: drugs, felon in possession of a firearm
McQuade is also facing charges of possession of ammunition by a prohibited person and possession of a controlled substance while armed. They also charged him for possession of a controlled substance and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia.
