Motorist Killed, Passenger Injured in Paramount Car Accident
PARAMOUNT, CA (January 28, 2019) – A 25-year-old motorist was killed, and another was injured Sunday morning following a possible DUI single-car collision on the 710 Freeway near the 105 Freeway.
Paramedics were called to the scene around 1:25 a.m. after hearing reports about a major injury collision.
A 25-year-old motorist was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at 1:44 a.m. His 24-year-old female passenger from Los Angeles was ejected, as well, but suffered only minor injuries and was hospitalized at St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood.
California Highway Patrol believes the vehicle, a 2005 GMC Yukon, was traveling in the No. 2 lane of the northbound 710 Freeway and veered to the right, struck a metal guardrail and overturned into a brush area along the shoulder.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. The victims were not identified in the report.
We’d like to send our deepest condolences and sincere thoughts to the bereaved family and friends of the victim.
