Pantea Tourshizi Dies in DUI Two-Vehicle Wreck on South Main Street Near 680 Freeway
WALNUT CREEK CA (December 3, 2018) – A University of Miami student was killed Saturday following a DUI head-on collision on South Main Street near the 680 Freeway.
Pantea Azizi Tourshizi, a freshman from Italy, was reportedly visiting family in Walnut Creek during Thanksgiving break. Reports say she and two other adults were in a northbound Honda Accord that was struck head-on by an alleged DUI driver by the name of Justin Ross.
Ross, 37, was on probation for driving under the influence and will be facing a violation charge of probation according to police. The 12:36 a.m. crash happened not too far from the Kaiser Hospital. Details confirmed that the three occupants of the Honda were all adults.
The police are investigating this vehicle crash and have to close South Main Street until 7 a.m. Ross was not injured in the collision and was arrested early Saturday on suspicion of driving under the influence.
