Rider Dies in Palm Desert Motorcycle Wreck
PALM DESERT, CA (February 4, 2019) – A motorcyclist perished Friday evening in a crash with a pickup truck at Washington Street and Hovley Lane East.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the deadly event unfolded around 7:20 p.m.
Arriving officers found a motorcyclist on the ground after being ejected from a Harley-Davidson bike. Although the rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the wreck, the rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
A preliminary investigation led authorities to surmise that the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed when it crashed into the back of the Nissan pickup truck. The driver of the pickup truck sustained injuries and was cooperative with authorities, yet it is unclear whether alcohol played a role in the crash.
