Pedestrian Hospitalized in Pacifica Crash
PACIFICA, CA (January 15, 2019) – A female pedestrian was hospitalized Thursday evening after being hit by a vehicle in the 500 block of Crespi Drive near Highway 1.
The victim was described as a 62-year-old woman who was struck by a vehicle in the westbound lanes of Crespi Drive. An off-duty nurse at the scene tended to the woman who had visible head injuries, was unresponsive and had difficulty breathing.
Paramedics arrived and transported the woman to a nearby hospital for treatment. The driver involved stayed at the scene and was questioned by authorities who later determined that alcohol and drugs did not play a role in the crash.
Inferring from a preliminary investigation, the pedestrian was not believed to be in a crosswalk at the time of impact.
Being a safe driver and pedestrian can make a difference to your well-being. The roads can be dangerous when we are not alert. Look out for trouble and never assume anyone is paying attention. Driving responsibly and safely should be a top concern for all.
