SR 94 Fatal Crash Under Investigation
Lemon Grove, CA (March 29, 2024) – Osvaldo Ayala, a 32-year-old Lemon Grove man, was killed following a State Route 94 collision Monday night.
It was past 7 p.m. on March 18 when the fatal collision was reported east of Euclid Avenue.
CHP officers said Ayala was driving west on the freeway when he veered left and hit the center divider wall. He was ejected from the vehicle and was struck by a van.
Sadly, Ayala died before he was transported to a hospital.
The van driver pulled over and cooperated with the investigators.
Moreover, a statement from the Medical Examiner’s Office said Ayala was driving his Jeep while being outside the driver’s door window. There is no information on how far he was outside the window or why he was in that position.
Troopers said several 911 callers reported different chaotic versions of the collision. Some reported that a motorcycle rider had crashed and at least one reported a pedestrian was hit.
Josselyn Medina, one of Ayala’s siblings, believed the cause of the collision was mechanical issues that made Ayala lose control of the vehicle.

Osvaldo Ayala Dies in Lemon Grove Vehicle Crash
Dealing with the aftermath of a vehicle crash can seem unimaginable.
Thus, it is good to know that you may file a legal claim if you were injured or have lost a loved one in the collision.
A possible legal claim may help you move forward when a crash irreparably impacts you or your family.
Significantly, a wrongful death claim holds parties liable for the irrevocable damages they have caused.
Moreover, knowing that each state has laws covering who can file a wrongful death suit on behalf of the deceased is helpful. These people are related to or depend financially on the person who died. The law usually allows the following people to file a wrongful death case:
- Surviving spouses;
- Domestic partners (registered domestic partnership);
- Children of the deceased;
- Financial dependents, parents, and minors under the care of the deceased;
- Personal representatives.
- These people can differ from state to state.
