Orlando Rosalez Hospitalized on Highway 198 DUI Crash

Tulare County, CA (December 28, 2020) – On Friday, Orlando Rosalez and his passenger were injured in a DUI crash on Highway 198.

The accident took place before midnight at the Lemon Hill Recreation Area Entrance.

California Highway Patrol said Rosalez was driving a 2001 Lexus under the influence of alcohol driving west on Highway 198.

He approached a T-intersection near Lemon Hill Recreation Area at a fast speed and crashed with a 2020 Ford.

Authorities said the Ford driver exited the recreation area and was turning left onto the highway when Rosalez veered across the double yellow line.

The Ford driver did not get injured from the crash.

However, Rosalez was pinned in the driver’s seat and was extricated by Tulare County Fire.

Rescuers airlifted Rosalez to Kaweah Delta Hospital by Life Flight. He suffered major injuries from the crash.

Similarly, responders rushed Rosalez’s passenger to Kaweah Delta Hospital by ambulance for minor injuries.

The authorities closed the highway to traffic for emergency operations but was reopened.

There can indeed be several distractions on the road. That is why you need to constantly scan your surroundings for other motorists and any possibly dangerous circumstances.
