Injuries Reported in Fatal Crash on McCombs Avenue
Bakersfield, CA (April 22, 2022) On Thursday afternoon, one person died and another was injured in a head-on collision on Highway 46.
Authorities say that the fatal crash happened around 2:40 p.m. near McCombs Avenue.
Reports say that a westbound semi-crane truck collided head-on with an eastbound van.
Rescuers pronounced the van driver dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, paramedics took the truck driver to a hospital.
Authorities are investigating the crash and have ruled out impairment as a probable cause for the crash.
The accident caused the highway to be closed in both directions.
Officials did not release additional information about the incident.
